Westfield Warringah Mall, Sydney (2018)
My Yoga Playground held a special introductory family yoga session at Westfield Warringah Mall. As a family friendly shopping centre in the heart of the Northern Beaches, it was the perfect destination to introduce the practice of yoga and mindfulness to children and their parents. Through simple yoga poses, and interactive breathing exercises with the help of visual props and songs, the families were able to engage with the practice whilst bonding naturally and mindfully. The session focused on the children, with the encouragement of the parents, who helped to guide their children to learn and imitate Catherine. It was also a fabulous opportunity for parents to embrace their inner child. No matter how young or old you are, yoga is for everybody and is always better together!
Kids Yoga Garden, Chiang Mai (2018)
In August 2018, My Yoga Playground had the wonderful opportunity to guest teach at Kids Yoga Garden in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Catherine first reached out to Rosalie and Yok at Kids Yoga Garden as she resonated with their holistic approach to education and creative, play-based learning styles. The children were really open and engaged with the yoga and mindfulness activities, even the children who didn’t speak English very well - proving yoga is a universal practice. For those planning on visiting Chiang Mai with their families, Kids Yoga Garden is definitely a highly recommended destination, as they offer a variety of education programs for children, after school clubs, weekend camps, workshops and trainings.
